Can you fly a private jet into Reagan National (DCA)?
Yes, but only through the DCA Access Standard Security Program (DASSP). The Flight Restricted Zone around Washington DC prohibits private aircraft from landing at Reagan without DASSP authorisation. The program requires departure from one of twelve approved gateway airports, an armed security officer onboard for the inbound flight, and advance crew and passenger manifest filing with the TSA.

What is the DC Flight Restricted Zone and how does it affect private jets?
The Flight Restricted Zone is a roughly 30 nautical mile ring of special flight rules airspace around Washington DC, with a tighter inner zone covering the capital itself. General aviation aircraft operating inside it require specific authorisation, transponder codes and procedures. In practice this means private flights use Dulles, Manassas or Leesburg, all outside the restricted inner zone, while Reagan National requires the separate DASSP process. It is the single biggest difference between chartering from Washington and chartering from anywhere else in the country.
